The OHW scenarios are far more interesting, and I've been astonished how well they map onto the real battles with very little tweaking. For this one though, the flanking force should have been about a third of the Union to be more historical. That would probably give a more even battle. It is still a tough one for the defender. The prolonged firefights then seem to occur quite naturally. Acute observation too about the difference in how this plays between firepower periods and earlier warfare. I am very tempted to pinch the 'extra loss' result of a blocked retreat rather than the 'instakill' in some of the other NT rules.JWHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01637785437909299947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2410063836503200299.post-74437001787308883142022-04-30T13:37:01.662-07:002022-04-30T13:37:01.662-07:00I agree with the view that more experienced troops...I agree with the view that more experienced troops were less likely to make frontal charges than green troops. I don't recall who said it ( possibly Sherman or Sheridan) but one of the ACW generals is supposed to have stated that ' all soldiers have one really good fight in them, it's usually their first"Elenderilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05950182992274113214noreply@blogger.com
