As I've got some more Middle Eastern games planned, I wanted some more buildings to supplement my very old Hovels 6mm Adobe buildings. I spent quite a bit of time looking at various manufacturers as I prefer small footprint buildings and many '6mm' buildings are ridiculously huge. Even so, I'll mainly be using these with 15mm stuff.
Anyway, Leven fit the bill as they very helpfully publish the sizes of all their buildings so I could buy items of an appropriate size to go with my existing buildings.
And I got ten of them. Resin 3D prints, and very inexpensive.
I got four of these. Adobe huts with shop front extensions on them. A pack of four was less than a fiver.
And four of these, supposedly workers hovels. The have a brick/Adobe section and a wooden extension on the side with a cloth roof.
Finally I got a couple of shrines as I want to do Sidi Rezegh, among other places. Yes, I know SR is actually a tomb with a semi circular dome, but these will do. They even have Indiana Jones style stone entrances.
I painted them all similarly. Black undercoat, then a misting of white. And then layers of various and/cream shades drybrushed on. mainly Vallejo Desert Yellow, Iraqi Sand and Pale Sand. They got a final drybrush of white, and wood sections were given an inkwash. The canvas covers on the extensions are Pale Sand and the roofs are Iraqi Sand. The stone arches on the shrines are Desert Yellow, all a bit Petra-like, but it looks OK. I did the windows with a lining pen.
And here they are next to one of my 25 year old Hovels buildings. They go together perfectly, although the Hovels one looks like it has been cast by a 5 year old in comparison. I'm pleased to have approximately matched the colour schemes too.
Lovely buildings from Leven, highly recommended.
Leven used to do the actual tomb at Sidi Rezegh. I guess you are relying on FB as the website went AWOL in the big crash?
